St. Clair Township council passed the Updated Fees Bylaw during their June 7 meeting.

Fees bylaws are considered bi-annually in the township, and in his report township clerk Jeff Baranek noted that COVID-19 had impacted rates across many departments.

New fee increases include seasonal, monthly, weekly and daily golf cart fees, large and medium pavilion rental fees, as well as some administrative fees.

In an unrelated matter, Coun. Rose Atkins asked staff to investigate the impacts and feasibility of setting up photo radar on certain streets within the township.

During the Councillors’ Report section of the meeting, Atkins said that she would like staff to assess if the installation of photo radar would be beneficial in reducing speeding traffic on certain problematic roads within St. Clair Township.

Staff will bring back a report to council at a later meeting.
